부산 아시안 게임은 OCA(Olympic Council of Asia:아시아올림픽평의회) 주관 아래, 2002년 9월 29일부터 10월 14일까지 16일간 OCA 전 회원국인 44개국에서 선·임원·보도진 등 1만 8000여 명이 참가한 역사상 최다수의 참가국과 선수가 모인 국제 경기 대회입니다. 메카는 본 대회에서 한국의 정체성과 문화를 시각적으로 전달하고 대회의 분위기를 고취시킬 LOOK디자인을 했습니다. 뿐만 아니라, 주경기장의 비주얼아이덴티티디자인, 환경색채디자인, 사인시스템 등을 책임졌고 이 모든 내용들을 통합 디자인 가이드라인으로 묶어내며 일관되고 체계적인 대회의 모습을 갖출 수 있도록 했습니다.
The Busan Asian Games, organized by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), is the largest international competition in history with 18,000 participants, including athletes, executives, and reporters from 44 countries, all OCA members, for 16 days from September 29 to October 14, 2002. Mecca designed LOOK to visually convey Korea's identity and culture and inspire the atmosphere of the competition at the main competition. In addition, he was responsible for the visual identity design, environmental color design, and signature system of the main stadium, and all of these contents were combined into integrated design guidelines to create a consistent and systematic competition.
디자인그룹 메카에서 디자인한 제 14회 부산 아시안게임의 LOOK디자인은 엠블럼으로부터 모티프를 얻어 연계성있고 통일감 있도록 계획되었습니다. 대회를 위해 사용된 배너, 펜스, 내부 벽 등 대회의 규모와 가치를 한단계 높여줄 수 있는 모든 시각적인 요소들이 통합적으로 구성되었고 이를 위한 디자인 가이드라인을 수립했습니다.
The LOOK design of the 14th Asian Games was motivated by the emblem and planned in a harmony and unified way. The banners, fences, wall decals, i.e. all the visual elements that can increase the size and value of the competition were integrated and the design guidelines were set up for them.The exclusive colors used throughout the contest are called Asiad Blue, Asiad read, Asiad Green, and Asiad Gold. These colors were applied in conjunction with the banners, fences, signage, etc. used at the time of the games.
대회 전반에 걸쳐 사용된 전용색상은 아시아드블루, 아시아드레드, 아시아드그린, 아시아드골드라 칭하며 대회 당시 사용되었던 배너와 펜스, 사인 등과 함께 연계되어 통합적으로 색채계획이 적용 되었습니다.
The exclusive colors used throughout the contest are called Asiad Blue, Asiad read, Asiad Green, and Asiad Gold. These colors were applied in conjunction with the banners, fences, signage, etc. used at the time of the games.
